Gra-vdi provides locally installed ANSYS modules that may provide better graphics performance and/or stability for performing remote visualization compared to using the standard Compute Canada modules described in the Graphical Use section above. Legacy wrapper scripts are also provided that default to the SHARCNET license as an alternative to use a ~/.licenses/ansys.lic file. Suitable usage on ANSYS on gra-vdi includes interactively running a single test job with upto 8cores, create or modify simulation input files, post process or visualize data.
