Some applications that use the MIT-SHM extension of the X11 protocol will report the error Xlib: extension "MIT-SHM" missing on display "localhost:15.0". when used an X-Server that doesn't support MIT-SHM. One such application is VMD, one such X-server is MobaXTerm. In this case, issue the following command to turn MIT-SHM off before starting your application on the host machine:
