Globus updates habe made parts of the below linked docs out of date. It might be good to add something about configuring access to directories using globus personal connect. Maybe something like this: https://cgeroux.github.io/DHSI-cloud-course/globus/#configuring-accessible-directories.

There is evidence that some campus networks make it impossible to use Globus without special arrangements with the campus IT services (e.g. OTRS 027787). We do not know how common this is. The advice to use Globus as a default solution should probably be moderated somewhat, while we identify egregious cases and see if we can get any of them resolved.
